The school summer holidays are just around the corner and with the weather looking to be bright and sunny, there is no better chance to get outdoors than on your themed staycation. One of our best parks in Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire, has everything you could want for a family holiday, and there is plenty of outdoor activities to try that are right on our doorstep.

Natural landscapes

There is plenty of beautiful natural landscapes to explore in Lincolnshire, from the Wolds, the Fens and the stunning coastline. The Fens are astoundingly flat and is a thriving landscape of waterways and countryside, ideal for walking and cycling. If you want a few more hills on your walk, the Wolds is where to go. It is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for over 40 years and is a lovely place to take a picnic to and ramble about on.


There are plenty of golfing spots in Lincolnshire, from championship courses to the basic 9-holes. The National Golf Centre is also in Lincolnshire, and there are many top rated golf clubs to attend. As a family, head to a family friendly club and have a day perfecting your swing!

Active outdoor activities

If you want to go for something a little more challenging than a leisurely walk, then some adrenaline fuelled activities should be on the cards! There a few outdoor activity centres nearby our holiday park where you can enjoy Segway rides, quad biking, archery and pistol shooting, or high rope adventures and abseiling. You could even try horse riding, at one of Lincolnshire’s riding schools.


The county of Lincolnshire has many nature reserves, each as amazing as the next. Some of the best are Gibraltar Point, Frampton March and Far Ings, where you can see all sorts of birds and small mammals. You can even try seal spotting at Donna Nook Nature Reserve!

Something different

A holiday is a great time to try something new, and Lincolnshire is a great place for that. There are loads of places to try water sports along the coast, some of them at Mablethorpe. You could go paintballing, a fun family activity which might bring out everyone’s competitive side, or, if you want something really different and adrenaline fuelled there is hang gliding and parachuting!
