Christmas at the Blackthorpe Barn is both magical and captivating, for adults and children alike. There is a huge variety of festive events that take place at the barn, from Christmas gift making, such as scented candles, wreath workshops and kids Christmas crowns and tiara workshops, to cocktail evolution and table decoration classes. Alongside these fun and engaging events is something extra special for children, an enchanted Santa’s Grotto and winter wonderland. The decorations will be fairylike and are sure to inspire all children who visit. Santa will also be giving a gift to each child, if they have been good, of course!

Flexistowe is full of festive cheer around Christmas, and there is a lot to keep all members of the family entertained and enjoying themselves! To get visitors in the festive spirit, the official Christmas Lights Switch on and Craft Market is a fantastic event and day to be remembered! There will be several stalls, selling gifts and food and drink, along with carol singing, live bands, a candlelight parade and even an ice rink! No Christmas celebration would be complete without a visit from the big man himself; Father Christmas will be in his magical grotto, greeting children and getting them excited for the time ahead!

The event is free to attend although there will be a small charge for certain attractions. 2nd December, midday.




Along with the elaborate and breath-taking winter wonderland at Thursford that will transport you to the North Pole, will be Father Christmas’ house and gardens. Children are invited to wander around the enchanting Christmas-themed streets and then go and meet Santa in his very own, home-from-home. Children will receive a warm welcome, from not just Santa but other magical beings too, they will make sure the day is as enchanting as can be for children, and they will also be given a present to take home after their visit to the grotto!

Hoveton Hall Estate

Hoveton Hall Estate will be hosting a charming Santa Trial for children. The trail will be full of discoveries and interests, with the best being saved until last, a meeting with Father Christmas himself. Santa will be giving each child a special festive gift to take home and cherish, while the adults will get a glass of spiced mulled wine and a traditional mince pie! Father Christmas will also be bringing his reindeer and visitors are invited to come along and meet Rudolf and his gang.

Lincolnshire Wolds Railway

Hop on the Santa Special train for a truly magical festive experience with your family. As a firm favourite amongst locals, the trains fill up quickly and booking in advance is advised. The train will have festive decorations, and Santa’s elves will be on board to lend a helping hand before Father Christmas himself makes an appearance. Santa will have a sack full of presents for the boys and girls on board, and the elves will have glasses of mulled wine for the grown-ups.

Rand Farm Park

Father Christmas has a lot planned for children who visit the Rand Farm Park this festive season. Some of the fun activities include biscuit decorating, meeting reindeer, making reindeer food, writing letters to Santa and playing various festive games! For an experience that is even more memorable, children are invited to share breakfast with Santa, in his grotto!
