A ‘Visit Britain’ report recently revealed that the Lincolnshire seaside town of Skegness has been voted amongst the top ten tourist destinations in the UK for British holiday makers. With the rise of staycations due to their convenience and low costs without compromising on the holiday fun, it is no surprise that the coastal paradise has made it to the top spots!
Coming in at eighth place, the tourist hot spot brings around 600,000 visitors a year to experience the culinary delights, action packed offerings and serene views that Lincolnshire offers.
Lincolnshire Coastal Destination Business Improvement District’s Lisa Collins commented: “We have a stunning stretch of coastline, offering a haven of peace and tranquillity to escape to and explore where coast meets country, we have an abundance of nature and wildlife that appeals to walkers who are now discovering Skegness.”
She added: “This great offer alongside our blue-flag beach, fabulous all year round attractions, amusements, fairground rides, pubs, restaurants, traditional fish and chips, donuts and ice cream ensures a winning combination for everyone to enjoy, from the very young to our more mature visitors.”
Not only has Skegness made it into the top ten tourist destinations, it’s quaint and classic pier also took a proud fourth place in a following poll to find the best piers that the UK has to offer this summer! The famous landmark is paired with an abundance of amusements, ice cream, sea views and everything else you could wish for from a seaside haven – we certainly agree that Skegness has one of the best piers to visit this summer.
